Costs vary by scope. At Reid Design: an in-home consultation is $225 for a 60 to 90 minute session. Full Room Design starts at $995 and includes a complete design plan with mood direction, layout, furniture and decor selections, and a sourcing list with direct shopping links. Signature Room Design + Styling starts at $1,795 and adds hands-on shopping, paint color selections, and an in-home styling and final reveal. E-Design starts at $695 if you are outside the area or prefer to install things yourself. Hourly Shopping and Sourcing is $100 per hour, no minimum. Whole-home projects are quoted after the consultation, starting at $2,500.

No. The design fee is stated upfront before any work begins. The only additional cost is the furnishings and materials you choose to purchase, and you're always in control of that budget. For full-service clients, how trade vendor pricing works is explained at the start. For homes outside the local area, a small travel fee may apply, always quoted upfront before booking.

For larger full-service projects, fees are structured in milestones, a deposit at signing, a second payment at concept presentation, and a final payment at installation. For smaller packages like consultations and Shopping & Sourcing hours, full payment is required upfront.

The intro conversation is short, free, and completely informal. We trade a few notes about your space, goals, rough budget, and timeline, by phone or message, whichever is easier for you. My main goal is to figure out whether I'm the right fit for your project. There's no pitch and no pressure. If we're a fit, we book the in-home consultation from there.

Absolutely not. Most clients can't articulate their style cleanly, that's part of what the consultation uncovers. If you have a Pinterest board or Instagram saves, bring those. If you have nothing, that's fine too. Knowing what you hate is just as useful as knowing what you love.

Reid Design is a great fit if you want a designer who listens, works with what you already have when it makes sense, and is honest about what things cost. It's probably not the right fit if you want a fully hands-off luxury experience, or if you're looking for someone to act as a general contractor on a major renovation. If you're unsure, the intro call is the easiest way to figure out together whether we should work together.

Not much, but a few things help. Take a few photos of the room or rooms you want to address, including the corners and any areas that frustrate you. If you've been collecting inspiration on Pinterest or Instagram, save the link or have it ready to share. Think about your budget range, even a loose one, so we can talk realistically about scope. Most important: be honest about what you don't like. That's more useful than describing what you want.

Not at all. I love working with pieces you already own, a room that incorporates meaningful things feels more personal than one that's entirely new. We'll identify what's worth keeping, what can be repurposed, and what genuinely needs to go.

As involved as you want. Some clients love seeing every decision. Others hand it off completely and want to be surprised at the reveal. Both are valid. The one non-negotiable: you review and approve the design plan before anything is purchased.

Every package includes one full revision round. The thorough consultation up front means major revisions are rare, but the protection is always there. Nothing gets ordered until you give explicit approval.

The consultation is a single 60 to 90 minute visit. The design plan typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to build after the consultation. From there, shopping and styling timing depends on scope and on furniture lead times, anywhere from a few weeks for in-stock items to several months for custom pieces. Hourly Shopping & Sourcing turnaround depends on what you need. I'll always give you a realistic estimate, not a best-case scenario.

For full-service clients where I manage purchasing, I handle all claims, returns, and reorders. Vendor relationships and trade accounts come with better resolution processes than retail. I deal with it so you don't have to.

For full-service projects involving renovation, I coordinate with contractors but don't act as a general contractor. I can provide referrals to trusted tradespeople in the Indianapolis area and manage design-side communication.

I have accounts with vendors not open to the public. These lines offer more distinctive pieces, and my trade pricing is passed along to you, frequently offsetting a portion of the design fee.

My primary focus is residential, but I'm open to small commercial spaces, boutiques, offices, short-term rentals. Reach out and describe your project.
